You’ve probably already read it a dozen times, but as we write in our dry denim guide the “505 was originally introduced as a slim fit in the late 60s, but today it’s more likely to be thought of as a regular fit.” These jeans have a high back rise and a deep yoke and originally they were meant to be worn high, but you can equally wear low for a more relaxed style. Compared to the 1947 501 and other 501s the leg opening on the 505 is a little narrower. The Levi’s Vintage Clothing 505 also has an attractive price point of DKK 1200 (€160), which may be one of the reasons it’s a bestseller.

They have now been washed about 4-5 times in total (always turned inside out) and Jonas always adds a little vinegar to the water.

The denim is sanforised, which is indicated by the wash code ’0217′ before the lot number, opposed to ’0117′ that indicates shrink-to-fit. The 505 has a Talon zipper, flat arcuate, large slanted back pockets and clean look with only two bronze thread colours throughout the jean.

Today Jonas uses the jeans occasionally and wash them when they start to smell.

Really great fadings, character and authentic wear patterns on them.
Go rock them for another long time and keep them alive for ever. They deserve it

How much did the length shrink on these after all the washes?

I recently bought the 1967 505 because they have the most true look of all the LVC jeans. They do not have that untruthful modern yellow stitching on the back pockets and other places. This yellow thread radically spoils everything in the LVC jeans and awakes the wearer reminding him that it is 2013 in the street. I began to wear Levi’s in the middle of the 1970s and have been wearing them up to now. There used to be only dark-orange stitching and no other. It was very beautiful – dark-orange threats on very dark, without any light-coloured spots or stripes indigo. All those legendary Levi’s jeans had much thicker denim (think not thinner than 14.5oz) than these modern have. They all faded very beautifully, but now many of the youth do not even know that REAL jeans must be raw and fade with wearing. And it is very good that the raw Levi’s jeans are coming back.
