Recap: An Exploration of Denim

Summing up the “Explore the Wonders and Mysteries of Denim“-event in Illum the weekend of the 26th-28th of April can be done in one word: experience; and it seemed we really created some attention about it all. But this was only the beginning. Throughout the rest of 2012 Denimhunters and Samsøe & Samsøe will be hosting more events in the 3rd floor jeans shop, which will eventually lead up to a huge celebration of denim and the good life!

Besides writing about the event, Denimhunters’ part was an exhibition of what we do. The idea was to visualise some of our key texts by worn in jeans and other effects.

All texts use for the event were excerpts (in Danish) from Denimhunters. If you’re interested in using them for educational reasons please contact us.

The theme for the second day of our exhibition was “the cowboy’s wardrobe.” For this we teamed up with the Wrangler boys and brought in some great pieces from the Wranlger/Blue Bell archives.

Denim is serious business.

Even Buddy Lee was cheering.

The marketing people from Samsøe & Samsøe joined the party.

The Wrangler boys had brought along a dart board and some arrows.

Founder and editor-in-chief at Denimhunters

Thomas got into denim through a keen interest in manufacturing and a love for the well-faded jean. He's based in Copenhagen, Denmark, but he travels as much as his job allows. Through Denimhunters he has found a way to share his passion with likeminded enthusiasts while learning more about the blue fabric. Thomas' favourite jean is the 1947 501XX and he has a soft spot for Red Wing Shoes.
