Here at Denimhunters we always try to look at the bright side of things, but the denim business can be tough and unforgiving sometimes and unfortunately this spring is last time we’ll be seeing Blue Bell – at least for now. But instead of crying over spilled milk let’s enjoy these highlights of the spring/summer 2012 collection. Actually, in Sweden the collection is marketed as 2012-collection rather than “just” spring/summer. Also, I recently had a nice chat with one of the jeans designers from the European Wrangler headquarters in Belgium and he sounded very confident that with the hiatus of Blue Bell the profile of Wrangler will be strengthened.
To many denim enthusiasts, the value creation of a brand is heavily influenced by the historical roots and the storytelling of the company behind the brand. This does not mean that younger brands without decades of presence in the market can not deliver, but there will always be something special about the prioneering companies that started it all. One of them is Blue Bell and the spring/summer collection of 2012 is in my opinion the strongest so far.
