Do we still need guidance from insightful shoe experts? The answer is definitely. One place to find such experts is in the Shoe Chapter; a small basement shop in the heart of Aarhus. The shop was opened in February 2011 by Mark Sommerlund who had among others previously worked for Pede & Stoffer. But like so many others in the business Mark wanted to have something of his own and felt that he needed to put all his attention into footwear and shoes.
The originally idea behind the concept of the shop was based around specialising in men’s sneakers, casual shoes and boots. Shoe Chapter mainly stocks brands that aren’t available elsewhere in the city. However, as a supplements to the men’s shoes and partly due to huge demand women’s sneakers were brought into the basement as well. Nevertheless, Mark has no plan of introducing women’s leather shoes.
Shoe Chapter has no equal in Copenhagen, which is a shame. But the fierce competition in the Danish capital from multibrand store like Wood Wood, Norse Store, Storm, Pede & Stoffer and so on makes the realisation of a similar venture seem utopian.
Besides footwear Shoe Chapter also carries accessories like leather care products, magazines, handkerchiefs and socks.
Eastland is one of the outstanding brands with a great authentic history found in Shoe Chapter.
