Freakishly cool Red Wing 3105 with an original green Nitrile Cork outsole. Produced in 1999 and the owner Fred Bschaden from RW1905 is not interested in selling. Check out the blog for more fascinating boots.
Vibram logger outsole, water-resistant black boomer leather, 9″ in height, speed hooks, round steel toe, and a lot of hard-kicking attitude; the 2218 from Red Wing’s safety and industrial Work collection just made it to the top of my ever-growing Red Wing wishlist. Unfortunately, the 2218 is only available in the US or Japan.

At the corner of Östra Rönneholmsvägen and Jörgen Ankersgatan you’ll find the undisputedly coolest denim shop in Malmö. Meadow opened in October 2008 and is owned and run by the two denim enthusiasts Christopher and Peter. As every jeans store in Malmö started focusing mainly on chinos, they decided to take the matter into their own hands and opened a genuine denim store. Christopher had previously worked for other denim retailers, while Peter had studied design and is Meadows in-house tailor.
Within only one single year, Unionville in Stockholm has become one of the most noteworthy denim retailers in Europe, and the shop is without a doubt the denim capital of Scandinavia. In December 2011, Unionville celebrated it’s 1 year birthday, but the road to success has not always been an easy ride. The secret is passion, and a whole lot of it. I’ve waited a long time to visit the store, and it fully met my expectations.
In an industry characterised by constantly changing trends and superficiality, Copenhagen has a fortress for the steadfast denim nerds. Located at Nordre Frihavnsgade 49 is “Brund”, a small shop that is owned and run by Henrik Brund. Here you will find one of the best selections of old school jeans from the original American and Japanese brands. Additionally, Brund also carries one of the largest selection of Red Wing boots in Scandinavia, and recently also Englands finest, Crockett & Jones. Henrik is a true storyteller and he loves to give his customers an eye-opening experience with every visit.
For quite some seasons now, heritage and vintage have been some of the main buzz words of fashion. Besides denim, the wave has carried other well-crafted brands and product categories with it, like high quality footwear from Red Wing Shoes. In just a few winters, the Red Wing brand has been incorporated as an undisputed part of heritage-vintage look, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
“Denim of the Day” is a new category here at Denimhunter, and every day we’ll publish an image or several images, which in one way or another relate to denim and jeans. Today it’s a few snapshots from the Cuckoo’s Nest from 1975, in which Jack Nicholson wore the perfect outfit consisting of beanie, leather jacket, 501-jeans and Red Wing boot (model 877).
